Swetlana is passionate about helping and inspiring students to develop and discover
their authentic voices, empowering them to shine confidently in their musical and
performance aspirations. With over a decade of teaching experience, she is dedicated
to nurturing healthy vocal technique, artistic expression, and confidence. Her teaching is
personalized and student-centered, focusing on developing each singer’s unique voice
and musicality. She takes great joy in witnessing students grow and discover their
authentic voices.
Swetlana also provides piano instruction that supports students in building
musicianship, sight-reading skills, music literacy, and expressive repertoire. As a pianist,
she performed regularly in recitals, participated in the MTAC Certificate of Merit piano
evaluations, and earned the MTAC Senior Medal and Senior Scholarship in recognition
of her achievements. She received State Honors each year she participated in CM
Piano Evaluations.
As a classically trained soprano, Swetlana has sung opera arias by composers such as
Mozart and Puccini, as well as art songs by Italian, German, French, and Spanish
composers, including works by Richard Strauss in the German repertoire. She has
performed at venues throughout the Bay Area, including the California Theatre and
what was formerly known as Le Petit Trianon Theatre in San José. At the age of 24, she
had the honor of performing at the Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall in New York
City with Mission Valley Chorus.
Her students have earned top honors in international competitions including American
Protégé and the United States International Music Competition, and have achieved
State Honors through the MTAC Certificate of Merit Voice Evaluations.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Swetlana is also proficient in lyric diction for Italian,
French, German, and Spanish repertoire. She combines strong vocal pedagogy with
encouragement and motivation to help students become confident and expressive
performers.
Swetlana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from San José State University, where she
studied voice with Professor Joseph Frank. She continues to refine her vocal artistry
through mentorship with distinguished professionals, including Daniel Teadt of Carnegie
Mellon University.
