Practice Commitment and Progress Monitoring:

Students are expected to maintain a consistent practice schedule based on their level:

Beginners: 15-30 minutes, 4 days a week

Intermediate: 30-45 minutes, 4 days a week

Advanced: Minimum 60 minutes, 6 days a week
Each student receives a detailed weekly practice plan and must document sessions to monitor progress effectively. Lessons encompass sight-reading, theory, improvisation, technical studies, etudes, and diverse repertoire.

Performance and Development:
​
All students are encouraged to participate in annual assessments (Steinway, Guild, RCM, CM, ABRSM) and Academy performances at prestigious Bay Area venues. Opportunities include solo, collaborative, and chamber work, enhancing portfolios for summer programs, festivals, and competitions.

Materials and Attendance:
​
Parents or students purchase required books and materials. Punctuality (10-15 minutes early) and attendance are crucial for consistency and progress maximization.

Tuition, Schedule, and Fees:
​
Tuition rates are non-negotiable and may increase with a 3-month notice. Monthly payments are accepted via electronic transfer, cash, check, or credit card reader. Semester-based tuition offers a 5% discount. Family discount (5%) applies to 30, 45, and 60-minute lessons. Invoices are managed via My-Music-Staff. Lessons are conducted exclusively at Chromatic Music Academy, 607 N 1st St., San Jose, CA 95112.

Rescheduling Policy:
​
Students may reschedule up to 2 times per semester with 72-hour notice, subject to availability. Missed lessons are non-refundable. Virtual lessons require 24-hour notice for continuity with assigned faculty. The Academy follows the San Jose Unified School District Calendar, closed major holidays, accommodating minor ones.

Effective Dates:
Effective August 1st, 2024, through May 31st, 2025. The summer schedule (June 1st to July 31st, 2025) accommodates submitted vacation weeks.
