Alyssa is currently a fourth-year student at San Jose State University studying for
her Bachelor's in cello performance under the instruction of Dr. Adelle-Akiko
Kearns. At San Jose State University, she performs as a soloist, in chamber
ensembles, and in the SJSU Symphony Orchestra. Born in San Jose,
California, Alyssa was introduced to music at a young age through her dad, aunt,
and uncle who were violin and piano teachers. She learned piano at the age of 4,
violin at the age of 7, and cello when she was 11. Performing in recitals and in
orchestras early on in her life, her love for music only grew on the stage. With her
dad, she performed for the Saigon Chamber Ensemble that originated in
Vietnam. Alyssa is excited to share her knowledge and passion for music with the
younger generation. She not only hopes to help build their technical skills, but their
confidence and interest in performing music they enjoy!
