Jason Gallardo is the Assistant Director of Choral Activities at Santa Clara University. In the Fall
of 2023, he began studies in pursuit of a DMA in Choral Conducting and Literature from
University of Colorado Boulder, where he directed the Festival Chorus. During his time in
Colorado, he was appointed the Assistant Director of Ars Nova Singers, a professional chorus
based out of Boulder.Originally from Texas, he was the Associate Choir Director at Benold
Middle School in Georgetown from 2017 – 2022. Before that he was the Assistant Choir Director
at Shoemaker High School in Killeen, TX. From 2011-2022, he was a contract musician at St.
Louis Catholic Church in Austin, TX, where he was Associate Director of Choral Vespers,
director of the Magnificat Women’s Choir, Tenor Section Leader for the Parish Choir, and
Compline Singer, . He received his B.S. in Sound Recording Technology and M.M. in Choral
Conducting from Texas State University. He currently lives in Santa Clara, CA with his wife
Vanessa, and their dog and cat, Theodore and Dottie.
